In 2017, founder Jonny Lee and Videographer Neil Kemp made their first visit to Africa in Feb, to observe progress on projects that we now support in this part of the world. Learn more.
Meeting John St Julien, the driving force behind Feathers Tale, and seeing first-hand the harsh reality that a single mother with a special needs child must cope with, in a country with no support system, made us realise how important Johns work is.
The sense of safety in this growing community was immediately apparent. With the help of our long-term supporters Loopmasters, we were able to provide funding to build a basic 3-bedroom house for 4 children and 3 single mothers. The building was completed in March 2017 and continues to provide a much-loved home for these families. Watch Video.
Our Cycle Ibiza Challenge Provided funds to complete a much needed new large Septic tank & water storage unit ready for more buildings to be started.
We are humbled by the messages of gratitude from our new friends the Masai, as well as the families themselves.
In 2018, LNADJ will continue to support Feathers Tale, and through our Climb Kilimanjaro challenges later this year, we are raising funds to build a new completed house. The goal is to have 3 large bedrooms, each capable of housing 10 children at capacity. We will also aim to add a 4th smaller bedroom for babies, our youngest resident is 6 month old just now, so a dedicated nursery room is needed.
