Danny Rampling - Ambassador
Summary
Danny Rampling made his name as a revolutionary dance music pioneer affectionately known as The Godfather of the British House Music scene.
His fame and notoriety originated from the late 80s when he catalysed the dance/rave Acid House explosion with his legendary club Shoom. Few would have guessed how all-pervasive this influence would prove in the years to follow.
Biography
Danny Rampling needs little introduction. Through his legendary club, Shoom, and subsequent long-standing associations with Kiss FM and Radio 1, Danny’s catalytic influence has helped to shape dance music for over 20 years.
As a DJ for Kiss FM, Danny extended his influence over dance music and the changing attitudes of young London. His music word spread rapidly as he toured worldwide and became a household name through his six year tenure at Radio 1 hosting ‘The Love Groove Dance Party’ - generating sales in excess of one million compilation CDs. As a result he became a brand unto himself, building an international army of fans and a vast array of high calibre business contacts.
Danny’s DJing circuit ranges from private celebrity events – including George Michael, The Pet Shop Boys, Mick Hucknall, Gloria Estefan, Depeche Mode, Patrick Cox, Boy George - to headlining at major clubs worldwide.
In 2010, Danny took up a summer residency at Aura (Ibiza) and is successfully promoting his club event ‘Atmosphere’ which launched in 2009 with a series of exclusive parties at Paramount (London) and has now expanded worldwide. Danny can also often be found in the studio collaborating with the likes of Mark Wilkinson, Giuseppe Moreno and John Malkin. Meanwhile, his well established radio career continues with regular shows on the biggest dance stations in Mexico and Barcelona (Spain).
Danny’s acclaimed book ‘Everything You Need To Know About DJ’ing & Success’ – originally launched in 2008 as a downloadable e-book – has now been published for hard copy release. To supplement the book, in which Danny shares his 20 years experience of the music industry, the hard copy release includes a bonus DVD of hugely inspiring interviews from leading DJ industry figures such as Pete Tong, Joey Negro and David Morales.
At the forefront of changing music trends, Danny retains a unique awareness that has been the hallmark of his career.
